This ring was the result of some weird modeling exercise I put myself through, and over 65 hours of rendering. The details you see inside each bloodpearl are actual geometry, not just a textured overlay. The ring was modeled in Rhino, and rendered in Bryce. Some color-correction/gamma adjustment done in Photoshop, and the frame of course. Thanks for looking, this was my sixth attempt to model a ring. Tell me what you think?
This is just bloody amazing. I had trouble believing it was a render and not a painting for a while. As much as I love the amount of detail on the ring itself, it's the bloodpearls shape and lighting that really 'make' this piece. I'm a little confused about the floor-- it seems a little too smooth in places, and too textured in others-- which gives it a very wet look, but it just looks a bit strange to me.
Yeah this is good.
The plane is perfect. The wet look works.
As for the ring.... Well it'd be a tad abrasive to the fingers on either side, but considering the beauty, 'tis a minor thing
This is bloody marvellous, and I'm more than a little envious!
Keep it up.. Please!
I've seen this image before, I liked it then, and I still like it now. The only critisism I have of this image is that I STILL don't know how you did that gorgeous floor, I suppose there's no chance of you thinking of ever doing a small... tutorial on it, is there?
Amazing job man ! I dont get why you get only 50 views... Lots of crap out there with 10.000 f... views such as semi naked black masquaraded girlies (they all the same...)
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
