A simple scene done with Vue and Photoshop, based on my previous sketch from Vue. Added foliage, changed some materials, and rendered a rather decent cloudscape from Vue. Layered in Photoshop with two cloud photos from Night_Fate_Stock for some added depth.
I'm rather happy with Vue's "Global Radiosity" lighting solution, although it's still a far cry from my normal mental ray lighting, but it looks almost believable if done properly! Thanks for looking.

Speaking of hardware... Following your advice (in fact, I had it in plan since a couple of months): today two 2GB modules of RAM arrived via FedEx - so I will go from 4 to 8.

Well, XSI has its world-famous "gigapolygon core" (silly names they invent, isn't it? ) and it really handles enormous scenes without problems... but a little bit of freedom in using large HDRs and such will come handy

Almost completely photo-realistic! The only thing I could suggest is adding a little more light blur to the sun to give some depth to the hill shadow on the right. Great clouds.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
